Roselyne O'neill

My practice has seen me creating art with traditional and contemporary techniques in various mediums including stained glass. From painting and drawing to making stained glass windows and smaller craft pieces.  I have remained dedicated to learning as much as possible about the craft since learning the traditional techniques of leading, foiling and cutting from 2003-2006.  I have steadily developed skills and explored some complimentary techniques including gilding, verre l'eglomise (reverse glass painting) and mosaic which has brought new dimensions to my contemporary artwork.  I love the jewel like colours, the transparency, the reflections and the interaction with light that working with glass brings. Mosaic making has not only been very interesting to learn but also uses up a lot of my offcuts of glass!

I design and make stained glass commissioned windows, copper foiled projects often in 3D and mosaic paintings. I paint commissioned animal portraits/landscapes and produce artwork for gallery exhibitions, shows and retail.

My designs and paintings often explore the natural and historical environment including local lore and legend as well as the influence of my lifelong passion for horses which is so predominant in my life.
