The constellation of Leo has a significant bright star in it's midst, Regulus, derived from the Latin 'rex' meaning little King. The star is associated with the arrival of spring and is prominent in May skies. It looks like one shining bright star but is actually made up of four stars. Also known as Alpha Leonis the star can be seen at the base of the star pattern and appears like a backward question mark. The constellation has been subtly included in the painting top left area.
